There are also few personalities who are a genre in themselves. Actors and Actresses like Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks are a type of genre on their own. Whatever may be their role, be it of a rich person or a protagonist of a cause, all of their movies are worth watching.

Similarly one such versatile actor Paresh Rawal who is known to portray any character with intensity and ease. A qualified professional and an alumnus of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management, he is married to Swaroop Sampat who is herself a PhD. But what makes his movies a class in itself is due to his intense character play in movies based on any theme. Then be it his role of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel in Sardar (1993) or dim-witted character in much acclaimed Hera Pheri.

Whereas certain actors and actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Mallika Sherawat have been given roles based on their looks or sex appeal and not for acting talent. They are better known locally for Hollywood movies where they do not have meaningful roles or movies itself are not meaningful. Neither have they acted well in those roles.

Another versatile actor is Om Puri who has also acted in many movies and has achieved international acclaim and credibility by his masterful acting in mainstream Hollywood movies like ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’.

Both Paresh Rawal and Om Puri mostly do not play leading roles in movies. India needs movie stars who are more like them and enable the making of good movies.
