The much-awaited supply of piped gas to households is coming to Greater Hyderabad soon. It is expected to hit the houses in city this September.
It is said that the gas supply through pipes will initially be made in Bowenpally area. As this area is in close proximity to the landing point of piped gas from the Krishna-Godavari basin, it is expected to get the first pipelines of gas. Supply to other parts of the city will follow soon. Some arrangements are also being made to supply gas for industrial units and vehicles.
With the gas production in Krishna Godavari basin, our state has begun to emerge as a natural gas hub.
AP Gas Infrastructure Corporation of our state became part of the joint venture of Bhagyanagar Gas, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Gas Authority of India to implement the piped gas supply project in Greater Hyderabad.
The piped gas supply is expected to be simple, secure and convenient. The piped gas supply is said to be better than regular gas cylinders as there is no need to use high-pressure cylinders in kitchen, no need to book, refill and wait, can utilize more space of kitchen and no need to keep extra cylinder.
