Two Hour Power cut in City

Power cuts are back, quite early this year. Every year, we witness power cuts in the summer season but they are longer, frequent and causing more inconvenience this year. The temperatures are consistently hitting the 40-degree mark early in the season this year. This excessive heat wave accompanied by the frequent power cuts is showing a glimpse of the hell to the people of Hyderabad.

According to the Central Power Distribution Company Limited (CPDCL), a two-hour power cut in the twin cities is imposed due to the increase in consumption and decrease in generation of electricity. The power cut is being administered in two spells of an hour each I the twin cities.

Sub urban areas are already witnessing more than two-hour power cuts per day. The two-hour load relief has been extended even to the areas located in the center of the city. Timings of the power cuts in some of the areas in the city are:

The situation is bad, it will have an impact on the image of Hyderabad. Without proper infrastructure in place, including reliable power supplies, the city can never be seen as a reliable destination for any kind of investments.
AP Govt must learn to honor the committments made to IT Sector.
A few years ago when Bangalore and Hyderabad competed fiercely for IT capital label, everyone thought that HYD had really become good…
Now the truth and reality are being exposed.
