The city police have set their eyes on security at hospitals after entertainment hubs and malls. Police checked at hospitals and found out that there is poor security. Also they checked at malls and found the same situation.

From the 26/11 alert experience, Cama hospital had come under attack. So that is why city security wing and Zonal DCPs carried out checks at hospitals, along with corporate facilities.

As per sources , casual attitude of the hospital managements to security surprised the officials and they served notices to the Yashoda Hospitals at Somajiguda, the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), and the Care hospital at Banjara Hills besides a few others to increase the security. In the city the security situation at the two major government hospitals such as Gandhi and Osmania hospitals was improper. The police observed that it was very easy for any body to carry weapons or ammunition into these hospitals.

At the hospitals, the security people were not searching the attendants of patients visiting the hospital. They are allowing people who have slips issued by the hospital authorities with out any checking. Police official said that they had issued notices and advised the hospitals that patient attendants and visitors should be thoroughly checked before allowing them into the hospitals. And he felt that these crowded places are most desirable targets for the terror groups. The private security personnel guarding the premises don’t have even basic gadgets like hand-held metal detectors to screen the visitors at the Osmania General Hospital.

Earlier, the police identified security mistakes at the Hyderabad Central, GVK One, City Centre and other malls and gave notices to increase the security as soon as possible. As per sources a total of 25 notices have been issued till date. Official said that the high alert would continue till May 18, the Mecca Masjid blast anniversary. Later random checks would be conducted at regular intervals to test security preparedness. (Source: Express buzz)
