GHMC recently canceled an agreement with USM Business Systems, which was collecting advertisement tax on neon and glow sign boards on behalf of it.

Now, the tax inspectors and designated officials of the GHMC will collect the advertisement tax on neon and glow sign boards in and around the city.

Advertisement tax should be paid by all owners and managements of commercial establishments directly to GHMC, with demand drafts and cheques withdrawn in favour of the GHMC. In a press release it also said that it will not take any responsibility if any one makes payment to a private agency. After an AP High Court directive, the decision to cancel the agreement came from the GHMC.
