As a part of announcing the awards for the cultural Heritage Conservation at Bangkok, Chowmahalla Palace of Hyderabad has been declared as the winner for the prestigious UNESCO Asia- Pacific Heritage Merit Award.

Among the famous monuments built by Nizam, Chowmahalla Palace of Hyderabad is also a famous one. Here in this palace, the royal visitors and the official guests were entertained by Nizams. It was the royal seat of Asaf Jahi dynasty.

From stabilizing the existing structural components to reconstitution of collapsed and weak sections of the complex, restoration of external and internal spaces of the palace etc., were done as a part of the restoration project. Thus, restoration saved the cultural oasis from abandonment.

Thus, the effort made for restoration by the organizations and the private individuals in conserving the palace, is yet to receive the honorable award during the month of November.
