Despite having a big set of cricket fans and a dedicated cricket association, Hyderabad has hosted only 3 test matches and 13 International ODIs so far. The test match starting on 12th November 2010 has stimulated the excitement in the cricket fans of Hyderabad, especially the test cricket lovers, already as it is the one being hosted here after 22 years and also the 4th one.

What adds to the excitement is not only the good form of the Indian team, but also the local cricket hero VVS Laxman playing his first test match in home town.

Going further into the details, the 3 test matches played at Hyderabad were conducted at Lal Bahadur stadium, the last one being played in 1989, 22 years back. All the 3 matches were against the same New Zealand team and India has history of almost positive results – 2 being drawn (played in 1955 and 1969) and the third one being won by 10 wickets.

However, this time the match is held at the Uppal stadium where the home team has never won a match. Recently, our HCA has even conducted pujas and Vaastu alterations for this purpose.

Many of the local celebrities are expected to turn up to the match, as it is held in weekend.
