Students Can Now Easily Enroll For Voter Identity Card

On occasion of Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Voter’s Day on January 25th, the state government had announced that students may enroll and apply for voter ID card from the 66,795 polling stations set up across the state or even from 18,000 post offices and e-sevas present in the state. The government had eased the inquiry procedures for the students for getting ID cards, by instructing them to fill in the application form and to get it signed either from head of the institution, principal or vice chancellor, confirming all the details as valid. The electoral registration offices, will issue electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) on receiving the application forms, before 26th February.

The electoral officer had said that there was an increase of 15 lakh voters found in the electoral drive conducted from 31st October to January 5th, taking the total number of voters in the state to 5.7 crores.
