50% Marks in IPE Must for getting Admission For Engineering

According to the AICTE, the students should secure 50% of the marks in Intermediate Board exam in order to get admission in engineering colleges. This rule will be applicable from this academic year. The sale of applications for EAMCET has started from 14th February, and students can apply till 25th April with a fine of Rs.5000 and till 5th May with a fine of Rs.10,000. The exam is scheduled to be held on 8th May. According to the officials the number of students applying for EAMCET will increase by 10% and many of the other students will also be able to write exam due to the early conduction of exam.

    Thanks to loose correction 95% of those who pass Intermediate do so with over 50%. Maybe if AICTE mentions 70% it will help for AP – nearly a third pass with over 70%. This is so odd – it is like 1 in 3 batsmen scoring a century in every match in World Cup (50 overs match). Makes you wonder with Board of Intermediate’s job is to maintain standards or to destroy standards.
