The adoption of technology by Government departments has taking an another level, with the Hyderabad Traffic Police now opening an account in Facebook with the same name. Now Facebook users can easily lodge complaints, discuss issues regarding traffic rules and regulations; traffic violations, etc. just by clicking ‘like’ on the home page of the official account of the city traffic police.
The traffic department had appointed dozen members to work on this new and innovative project, who are supposed to give replies, make note of complaints and address the complaints by monitoring the posts. If required, these complaints will be passed on to the higher authorities. Apart from this, the department also posts information regarding traffic alerts, diversions, jams, dharnas, etc. The city traffic police department is also planning to come up with SMS facility to alert passengers regarding the above aspects.
