12 March 2011: Though India considered is as the best outsourcing hub for content writing services, it is still struggling to hold on the top MNCs. This fact is reestablished by the recent layoff of 400 employees by AOL, one of the top American content providers, in its Bangalore unit. This lay off was mainly seen in the area of content writing. With its recent acquisition of Huffington Post, American news website, AOL has decided to lay off its employees in its Indian unit and handed over the area of content writing to the later.

The AOL is known to have 5000 employees worldwide. With the recent layoff, the number of employees in the Indian unit has reduced to 200.
