Now Passport Applicants can know their Verification Status through IVRS

09 April 2011: IVRS or Interactive Voice response System was launched at Passport verification cell (near Imax Theatre) to communicate about the police verification status through a call or a SMS. It is round-the-clock service. Passport applicants can dial or send SMS to the number 55352 to know the status. This service can be availed in 3 languages, Hindi, English and Telugu at Rs.3 per minute.

The facility to call or SMS is available with few services like, Airtel, Reliance, Uninor, Tata Docomo, Tata TeleServices Ltd., etc. Only SMS service is availed with the BSNL network. The charge for SMS for BSNL is Rs.2 and for other service networks it is Rs.3.

In order to get the status, the applicant must type PV, space, File Reference Number and should send it to 55352.
