24 May 2011: Around 341 buildings which are in the precarious condition in the core city area were found by the GHMC to demolish immediately. Overall, the corporation found 737 such buildings among which 566 of them were issued with final notices. So far, only 244 of these buildings were demolished by the municipal corporation and 125 others were found to be repaired. Considering the dangers of these structures with a view of forthcoming monsoon, the town planning officials are forcing for the immediate action to prevent sudden collapse or loss in human lives.
