25 May 2011: The businessmen in the twin cities are appealed by GHMC to renew their trade licenses, for the period of 2011 to 2012, between May 25 and June 24 to avoid any kind of penalty. The payment for the renewal can be made at any of the eseva centers or Citizen Service Centers (CSC’s). Traders who want to apply for new trade licences also can approach these government service centers.

The traders, who are running their businesses without renewing their trade licenses or without having trade licenses, will face shut down of their businesses, in addition to seizure of their goods and articles, as per the HMC Act 1955.

If the trade licenses are renewed on or before June 24, the traders will not face any kind of penalty. If they renew it between June 25 and August 24, a penalty of 25 percent will be levied on the fee, in addition to original amount. If the traders renew the license after August 24, then a penalty of 50 percent on the fee will be levied, along with the original amount should be paid.

The traders having interim orders of the High court on bulk charges should approach Joint commissioner (H&S) at the head office to make payment.
