23 Jul 11: The state government has signed an agreement with the government of US to lease out land for establishing a permanent US Consulate–General office in the city.
The state government has decided to lease 12 acres of land at Gachibowli for setting up the office. The officials from the Consulate-General have said that they would sign on the lease deed after conducting a series of surveys and inspections, and then start the process of construction.
Both the governments are of opinion that this measure will further strengthen the bonds between the US and India.
