APSRTC to Come Up with More Number of Buses and Depots in the City

In the year of 2012, APSRTC is planning to further extend its operations and add more customer-friendly services to the existing services in the city. In 2011, APSRTC has performed well by 50 air conditioned buses, 50 CNG buses and 100 mini buses to the existing fleet. And this year it has announced to add 350 city buses to the existing fleet of 3,700 buses.

Also, the four depots at Kachiguda, Farooqnagar, Bandlaguda and Chengicherla, whose construction process is on the verge of completion, will start operating form February, 2012. Apart from this, additional four depots at Shamshabad, Maheshwaram, Gandimysamma and Jawaharnagar are proposed by the department.

Officials from APSRTC said that the seat occupancy ration in the year 2011 increased by 6% due to the improved quality of services provided by them. Measures such as Goodwill centers at few places, Seva centres, passenger grievance cells and other facilities were implemented to provide better service to the customers.

The corporation has also constructed a community amenity centre at ECIL crossroads and Patancheru, to provide good experience for commuters with the department. Other two similar centres at Koti and Kutapally are waiting to be launched.
