Major Reforms in APPSC on the Anvil

The state government is considering for reforms in the AP State Public Service Commission. The reforms include a single examination for Group I and Group I-B, restricting the number of attempts for examinations conducted by the commission as it is in the case of UPSC, creation of a new service, ‘Group I-B’, interviews for gazetted and non-gazetted post, starting a new computer cell to facilitate service more effectively.

Under the proposed, Group I- B will include the executive posts in the current Group II including municipal commissioner Grade-3, ACTO, deputy tahsildar, sub-registrar of cooperation, junior employment officer, assistant labour officer, extension officer, panchayat raj, and excise sub-inspector.

Further, recruitment is to be held every year, for which the commission would prepare a calender of recruitments by March 31. Departments are to submit the list of probable number of vacancies in the next financial year by November 30.
