NRI Quota Seats in Engineering Colleges Reduced from 15% to 5%

The state government issued new orders to all the Engineering colleges in the saying that the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota seats has to be slashed from the existing 15% to 5%.

According to the state rule, NRI seats in Engineering colleges should be allowed only to the students whose parents stay abroad. Moreover, sponsorship from NRI relatives or friends is not allowed. They have to take approval from AICTE so as to get seats in NRI quota. Further, it is mandatory for the NRI quota eligible candidates to get 50% in all the subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2).
