With more than 700 engineering colleges, Andhra Pradesh is top on the list for having the number of tech colleges in the country. With these many colleges the state is offering as many as 2.4 lakh convener quota seats for 2.07 lakh EAMCET qualified students. Even if every student who qualified in the entrance exam gets a seat, we can still find 33,000 seats going vacant in this category.

When it comes to management quota seats the situation is even more pity. As many as 1,34,446 seats are available under the management quota in which only 34,000 are expected to be filled leaving the rest of one lakh seats vacant. On the whole, an estimated 1.5 lakh seats from both the categories are expected to remain vacant after counselling. Since significant number of students already joined in other colleges of other states due to the delay of EAMCET counselling the number of seats expected to be vacant are more.
