The Supreme court on Wednesday, dismissed the petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh state government, and ordered to implement uniform fee structure for both the conveyor and management engineering seats from the academic year 2012-2013. With this order it also upheld the judgment of the AP High Court. The AP state government has submitted a Interlocutory Application (IA) to the apex court seeking clarification on the differential fee structure for the convenor and management quotas.

Before the hike, the fee for the conveyor quota was Rs 31,000 and fee for the management quota was Rs 95,000. But now the fee structure is changed and Rs 51,000 has been decided as the common fee for both the categories.

As the state government has started fee reimbursement program for the white card holders and low income groups, Rs 20,000 hike in the conveyor quota seats, for which the government provides reimbursement, will add burden on the state. But the Apex court did not take that in to consideration as of now.
