Andhra Pradesh tops the list of states with road accidents in the country.
Seventy per cent of these accidents are due to human error, twenty per cent of the accidents are due to drunk driving and the rest of accidents are caused due to mechanical failure, road error, climate, geometry and other factors.
Earlier, the Road Transport Authority had planned to introduce drive against drunk driving on highways this year, but did not have sufficient number of breathalysers to have a control on the number of accidents.
The officials have stated that, very soon a sufficient quantity of breathalysers will be supplied for the drive that will be launched after a month.
