Sewerage Lines of Defaulters to be Disconnected

The Water Board served a warning to defaulting users regarding disconnecting sewerage water lines if they do not pay the outstanding dues and has warned the defaulters in this regard. The organisation removed 272 connections including both illegal connections and supply to long standing defaulters in domestic and commercial category, between September 24 and October 6. The 272 defaulters’ dues amount to Rs1.19 crore.

According to statistics the number of illegal water connections is close to one lakh and that of illegal sewerage connections is more than one lakh and there are 7.95 lakh connections in all and the number of defaulters is more than two lakh. They have paid the charges for three months and the outstanding fee thus to be collected is more than Rs350 crore.
