The idols that were vandalized eighteen months ago are getting restored at Tank Bund on November 1. The statues are to be reinstalled along the road of Hussain Sagar Lake. Four idols have already been installed. The remaining ones are to be brought back on AP Formation Day.
The 33 statues were put on high platforms on the Tank Bund in the late nineteen eighties. Over the years, the statues being reflective of the historical significance and cultural heritage of the region stayed like jewels in the Tank Bund.
After the statues are installed, it will add to the beauty of the city. Known for wide roads and green sidewalks, the Buddha statue in the middle of the lake adds beautifies it more.
