The verification of over eight lakh births and deaths registered between 2000 and 2005, has been completed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and citizens can avail birth/death certificates online with digital signatures at Mee Seva centres or Citizen Service Centres by paying a minimal fee.
Every year the GHMC receives registration of over two lakh birth and death certificates. The corporation is planning to post online, the details of all 80 lakh birth and death registrations, so that the citizens are benefited and it brings about transparency.
GHMC officials stated that the disposal of birth/death certificates have been taken up in a rapid manner, because there was demand from people settled abroad for birth and death certificates required for immigration and green card purposes.
