Population of Greater Hyderabad to Cross One Crore Mark

By the end of 2013, the population under the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) limits will cross the one crore mark and electorate will be about 70 lakh.

In the 2011 census, the urban population of Hyderabad was over 77 lakh. Greater Hyderabad urban conglomeration population is estimated to be about 91 lakh. The state population is 8.7 crore and will soon cross the 9 crore mark by the end of 2013 with 5.81 crore voters.

It was stated by the election commissioner that the GHMC’s target is to ensure that there is 100% voter enrollment and identity card delivery.
