The GHMC Commissioner stated that as per the Animal Birth Control (Dog) Rules 2007 of GHMC, it’s compulsory for pet dog owners to get licence for their pets.

The licence can be taken at private pet clinics or at government veterinary hospitals or at Citizen Service Centres at Parking Complex, Abids and Khairtabad or at Blue Cross of Hyderabad, Jubilee Hills in the limits of Central Zone, GHMC.

The amount for each dog per year is Rs 50 and for Breeder dogs (Kennels) the amount is Rs 1,000 per dog per year.

After the amount is paid a receipt will be given to the owners of pet dogs and a dog token will be issued for licensing. The pet dog licensing will start from 12 May 2013 for the year 2013-2014.
