Hike in Movie Ticket Rates in Hyderabad City

The state government has permitted to revise film ticket rates across the state and has classified theatres as per new norms.

• According to the norms, the rates in the theatres in the GHMC area and in municipalities have increased from Rs 10 to Rs 20.
• For category-2 AC theatres with additional facilities, the rate is Rs 75 and for ordinary class, it is Rs 45.
• For AC theatres in first grade municipalities, the rates for first and ordinary classes are Rs 55 and Rs 35 respectively. In the second and third grade municipalities, the rates are to be Rs 50 and Rs 30 respectively.
• Theatres have the discretion in fixing the ceiling rates for admission for middle classes between the highest and lowest rates.
