It’s shocking to learn that Hyderabad has stood second (not from the top) from the bottom in the SSC public examination that was held in March 2013. The SSC results were declared on 17 May 2013 by the Board of School Education Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP).

The pass percentage of Hyderabad district was only 78.13, whereas, Chittor district recorded the highest pass percentage of 94.92. The overall percentage in the state is 88.08, the city is much below the state average.

This year in Hyderabad district, about 61,314 students appeared for the SSC examination, out of which 13,307 students have failed. The numbers are really high. Despite the mushrooming of private schools that have a tag on them such as ‘international’, ‘techno’ or ‘concept’ schools all over the city, Hyderabad has fared miserably in SSC exams.
