From 1st July 2013, the entry fee of four wheelers into Nehru Zoological Park will be hiked from Rs 750 to Rs 1,000. The hike was made in order to restrict the number of private vehicles inside the zoo.
According to the zoo authorities there are nearly 400 to 500 vehicles that enter the zoo, especially during weekends and holidays. The hike was made, so that the pollution levels will be reduced and it won’t cause inconvenience to other visitors.
The officials are also planning to increase battery-operated vehicles into the zoo. These vehicles are a better option than private vehicles.
