You have a bad news to look out for. Government has revised the fine amounts for certain traffic violations. The fine amount for signal jumping, cell phone driving and unauthorized parking has been increased to Rs. 1,000/- and it is in implementation from 12th August 2013.

Here are the details for you.

Offence Maximum penalty-New Maximum penalty -Old
Using mobile phone while driving Rs. 1,000/- for any vehicle Rs. 500/- for any vehicle
Parking of vehicle in such a manner which may pose a risk to other vehicles Rs. 1,000/- for any vehicle Rs. 50/- to Rs. 200/- for two wheeler
Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/- for four wheeler
Illegal parking on public road Rs. 1,000/- for any vehicle Rs. 50/- to Rs. 200/- for two wheeler
Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/- for four wheeler
Violation of traffic signal Rs. 1,000/- for any vehicle Rs. 50/- to Rs. 200/- for two wheeler
Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/- for four wheeler

So, be careful next time when you are jumping signal or driving while talking on your mobile phone.
