The state government has decided to continue the mandatory Aadhaar rule till the Supreme Court decides and gives its final verdict on this matter. For now, there will not be any change in the mandatory Aadhaar rule in the state.

Recently the apex court had ruled that Aadhaar card is not compulsory to get the benefits of various government schemes, but the Centre filed a review petition over this matter and the case is still pending. In the next week the case is expected for hearing.

Likewise, the Oil Marketing Companies have also decided to continue with the mandatory Aadhaar norm for the subsidy of domestic gas cylinder.
