A Helping Hand
The office printer stopped working, so the office manager called a local repair shop where a friendly employee informed him that the printer probably needed only to be cleaned. Because the store charged Rs 300 for such cleanings, the employee asked the office manager to read the printer’s manual and get the printer cleaned by himself.
Pleasantly surprised by his fairness, the office manager asked, “Does your boss know that you discourage business?”
“Actually it’s my boss’s idea,” the employee replied. “We usually make more money on repairs if we let people try to fix things themselves first.”
