For industries and commercial category consumers, the state government has decided to hike water tariff by 100%. The Water Board will be earning an extra income of 300 crore per year with this tariff revision.
For all consumer categories, last tariff was revised in December 2011. The domestic consumers have been spared.
On Wednesday, the Chief Minister in a Board meeting approved the proposals of tariff hike that was submitted by Water Board which stated the power bill of the Water Board has increased from Rs 35 cr – 55 cr just within a year with frequent hike in electricity tariff.
