New Inmates for Hyderabad Zoo

The minister for Environment, Forests, Science and Technology, during a visit to the Nehru Zoological Park released white marmoset and mandrills into earmarked enclosures in visitors display area.

It is learnt that, the Tisch Family Zoological Garden (Biblical Garden), Jeruselum, Israel, has gifted these animals.

The Minister said that in the last two years, the zoological parks in the State received animals from four countries including African lions and cheetahs from Saudi Arabia, mandrills and white-headed marmosets from Israel, giraffe from Malaysia and cheetah from Czech Republic. Other animals such as pygmy hippopotamus and fishing cats from Sri Lanka are expected to arrive in few days.
