The National Employability Report – Engineering Graduates 2014 ranks AP in the top 25 percentile of States of most employable engineers. The report was released by employability solutions company Aspiring Minds. The report was based on the graduate class of 2013 across 18 states that covered more than 1.20 lakh students and 520 engineering colleges.

The city report card states that:

  • Hyderabad lags behind other metros, with only 1.7% of its engineers employable.
  • For non-IT jobs, its performance was found to be satisfactory.
  • 35.6% were found employable in associate ITES operations sector.
  • In the ITES and BPO sectors in non-IT roles, 40.2% were found employable.

This report clearly shows that, in city most engineering students are offered jobs for non-IT. The poor quality of engineers in the state is due to the large number of colleges and the intake. The CEO of Aspiring Minds stated that, “States need to be conscious towards better education quality rather than building more capacity.”
