The GHMC has introduced a new scheme called “Green Channel” on 18th of October last year, in which the building applications with clear documents are given quick permissions. This measure was taken in order to curb corruption among the official of GHMC. As per this scheme, if an employee fails to give permissions to the eligible applications within specified time, he would be penalised Rs.50 each day after the due date.
In the past 3 months, 526 buildings were granted permissions by GHMC, with 61 permissions were given in Kukatpally (circle 14), 58 permissions were to Khairthabad (circle 10), 57 permissions were given in Qutubullapur (circle 15) and only 8 in Abids area. The buildings requesting for permissions should have their layouts approved by either GHMC or registered architects.
As of now, Green channel is applicable only to buildings with ground+3 floors (each 12 meters height) plans, excluding 1000 sq meters area plots or parking areas.
