GHMC Introducing Hand-Held Machines to Collect Property Tax

0 Flares 0 Flares ×

Hand-held machines have now been introduced to collect property tax by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The proposal aims to avoid the corruption or any other malpractices during tax collection. Currently, the property tax from the owners is being collected in the form of cash or cheques and manual receipts have been provided in return. However, there are chances of issuing fake receipts by some officials.

Hand-held machines would prevent such problems. As they are directly connected to the head office servers, manipulations in collecting or handling of the property tax can be avoided. These machines have been introduced in the Kapra circle for experimentation. They would be then extended to other circles in a phased manner.
