The municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) department had issued orders to both Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to clear all the pending Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS) applications filed by various property owners whose properties are located in GHMC and HMDA limits in the next 3 months.
According to the sources the processing of BPS applications was stopped on 30 Dec’10 due to which around 40,000 applications received by both GHMC and HMDA were kept on hold.
The officials mentioned that most of the applicants made partial payment on their penalty amounts and some are still pending to submit documents like structural stability certificate and urban land ceiling clearance which are mandatory for the final approval. They also mentioned that over 2000 high-rise building applications required a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the fire service department.
Properties in some circles have already been checked and for the rest the verification would be done through Google maps, said the officials to the source.
