As per the latest Consumer Price Index data released by the Ministry of Statistics, Andhra Pradesh’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) for housing in the month of June has been recorded at 125.2 index points, which is second highest rate in the country. The inflation of 6.19 % has also been recorded in the first six months of this year, said the sources.
According to the sources the rate of increase in extremely high, which made AP to list second after Sikkim where the rise is recorded as 6.6 %. The all-India increase was a little over 4%.
The CPI for housing in AP was recorded as 117.9 in January this year and it rose to 125.2 in June. Moreover, the CPI for clothing, bedding and footwear in urban areas of the state has been the highest throughout the year. There was almost a 6.5 % rise from January.
