The state government has decided to do away with the scholarship and fees reimbursement to certain students who enroll in M.Tech courses in various engineering colleges in the State, as these students were found to be working as a faculty in the same or other college and are not attending classes.

The colleges are found to be manipulating the attendance of these students and thus, letting the candidates to sit for the examinations. It is said that, the acute short fall of teaching faculty has led to the present situation. Still in some cases, the M. Tech enrolled candidate neither teaches at any college nor does attend classes. This, it is said, is because of collusion between college and the candidate to misuse government funds.

Taking cognizance of this all, the government has decided to take measures to stop scholarship and reimbursement for such candidates.
