Thanks to the increased vigilance by the police in the city, the crime rate dropped in Hyderabad city compared to last years first three months, this year in the same period the crime is low. However, there has been an increase in rape cases by 5.8 per cent and chain snatching cases by 32 per cent.
After the Dilsukhnagar twin blasts, the police had become extra cautious and tightened vigil through continuous checking and patrolling in the city. It is learnt that, many pending cases were solved when compared to last year. There was also decline in burglaries.
To look after the crime, all police stations have an additional inspector or a detective inspector and all the vacant posts in police stations and at central crime stations are filled. The police have adopted new policing methods that has helped them to bring crime down.
