Sri Veda Bharathi Peetham (SVBP) is an academic institution based in the sacred town of Basara, Telangana, established according to the ancient teaching principles of the Guru–Shishya tradition. Originally, it started as a simple Gurukula, but over the years, SVBP has evolved into a nationally recognized learning institution that aims to disseminate ancient Vedic knowledge throughout various sections of society.

Sri Veda Bharathi Peetham takes a holistic approach to education, combining the best of spiritual learning, social service, and character building. This makes SVBP one of the most unique learning centres for a divine academic experience and cultural revival.  

The institution was founded in 2008 with a goal to make timeless Vedic education easily accessible to everyone. Established under the visionary spiritual guidance and patronage of Sri Veda Vidyanandagiri Swamiji, SVBP does not differentiate among pupils and accepts all students, irrespective of their economic and social backgrounds. For more than 17 years, SVBP has played a significant role in democratizing sacred wisdom and knowledge so everyone can benefit from them.

At SVBP, one can develop an in-depth understanding of the Rig Veda and Shukla Yajurveda, and other essential Shastra vidyas. The school also makes sure that all students are taken care of properly so that they have no trouble focusing on their lessons. By offering them free food, peaceful shelter, and priceless education, the institution not only sees that they are well fed but also creates an environment where they can thrive happily.  

SVBP is affiliated with the Maharshi Sandepani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratisthan. This Pratisthan is an autonomous regulating body under the Ministry of Education. Such recognition guarantees superior standards of educational curriculum, along with quality benchmarking and valuable certification. It also offers the institute essential credibility on a pan-India level.

SVBP is run by the Shukdevanand Trust, which accepts donations from all. These donations are also eligible for 50% tax remissions under Section 80G, thus encouraging millions of Indians to take an active part in preserving the classical spiritual heritage of our country. The design of the campus reflects strong ecological awareness. It supports river cleanliness initiatives for the Godavari River, and a plastic-free environment, as well.    

SVBP not just plays a pivotal role in education, but it also conducts medical camps and eye-care facilities, providing more than 5000 consultations and managing 100 surgeries for underprivileged kids regularly. The institution also performs free meal distribution or Anna Prasadam for daily devotees and visitors. It has a Goshala where the number of cows has expanded from 2 to beyond 40 over the years; a valuable initiative to promote sustainable living through cow protection. The daily Godavari Harathi is effectively building environmental awareness and spiritual unity. The campaign sees more than two hundred to three hundred participants.

Sri Veda Bharathi Peetham has launched a 3-year residential certification program to support women above the age of 18 years. This is yet another example of its progressive outlook towards life, supporting gender inclusion within its traditional frameworks. It. This is a powerful move to encourage female students to take part in advanced Shastric and Vedic lessons.
