Your Vote Can Make a Difference in Electing the Leader for Next Five Years

‘Vote’ is a power given to citizens, which decides the fate of a particular region and in fact the entire country for the next five years. But there are some people who are negligent in exercising their vote. They have an ‘I don’t care attitude’.

Is it sensible? Absolutely not, as we are all dependent on proper governance for better quality of life. Your vote is very valuable in deciding the local leader for the next five years who can make or break the quality of your life and your local surroundings. There are many instances, where a candidate has won or lost in the elections with a small margin (as small as 7 votes).

Below are the constituencies which won by a small number of votes in AP Assembly elections from 1955 to 2009.

From the above table, it is clear that your ‘single vote’ can make a difference. Your vote is very important in the direction of the society. In 9 of the 13 elections since 1955, there was at least one constituency that lost by less than 100 votes. So it is possible that voting in a particular direction by a single apartment complex or a group of 10 houses can determine the outcome of the elections.
