Three cities namely, Hyderabad, Varanasi and Ajmer-Pushkar, have reportedly been included in Inclusive Heritage-Based City Development Programme (IHCDP). The work is to be carried on a pilot basis.
Sources say that the existing heritage structures are to be analysed and development strategies are being planned for the three selected cities. The project is to be implemented if found successfully.
The World Bank, the City Alliance and UNESCO are said to be supporting the programme.
The 17 km of Musi will be developed as it was the case with Sabarmati after due finalisation of the maximum flood level (MFL) for Musi and GHMC, under the National River Conservation Programme.
