Renault KWID – One more Affordable Car for Indian Middle Class

Renault KWID, a hatchback segment car of Renault, may give a tough competition to the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai EON (which fall in same category with similar price) in terms of performance and looks. KWID in Hyderabad has a price ranging from Rs 3.15 lakh to 4.25 lakh. KWID is available in 6 different variants with 5 different colors (Red, White, Silver, Bronze and Grey), and hence it is customizable according to the need. The features in the car vary depending on the variant, but in overall KWID has good design, better mileage and gives a good value for money.

• The design of the car is inspired from SUV which looks very bold

• KWID is powered by a 797cc 4 cylinder petrol engine for all its variants and deliver a mileage of 25.17 kmpl

• Interior of the car is spacious, driver level gives the feeling of an SUV and has a boot space of 300 liters

• Top end variant of the car has good multimedia features, power windows and airbag (driver only)

• KWID delivers a power of 53 bhp @ 5678 rpm and has a torque of 72Nm at 4386 rpm which is an intermediate to the both competitors

• KWID has a 5 gear manual transmission with a drive train to front wheels

Renault launched KWID on 24th September this year and has total bookings of 25000 units in the first 2 weeks of its launch. The delivery of cars has already started in the metro cities with a waiting period of 25 to 35 days and for the Tier II cities deliveries will begin from January. Delivery of the recently booked cars may be get effected by Chennai floods, as Renault has its manufacturing facility only at Oragadam near Chennai.
