We can witness a number of civic works being executed in the past couple of months in Hyderabad. Surprisingly, they are not just mere foundation stones. In fact, they are being executed. There are many developments under GHMC these days. Roads, sewerage and street lighting developments can be seen in Himayath Nagar. Road renovations in Musheerabad, Vidya Nagar, Hyderguda, Panjagutta main road and L.B Nagar are under progress. They may not be major developments but at least some marginal improvements are being carried out in this ‘dry season’, not an election moment.
Some of the major works are also under progress. New bridges across Musi River at Golnaka and Nagole are under construction for the past few months. Under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), some sewer improvement works are being carried out in the old city.
This is a very positive sign from the development point of view and we hope it continues under the newly elected corporators also.
