The board of secondary education has decided to stop the malpractices during examinations of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from this year by implementing latest technologies like bar coding.
Bar coding system is in practice from the last two years on experimental basis. It was introduced only for social science paper. From this year onwards, bar coding technology will be implemented on all subjects.
Another new feature, the grading system is being introduced from this academic year. Students from this year would get A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2 and E grades depending on their marks instead of first division, second division, third division. Those who get less than 34 marks in a subject will get E grade and will be treated as failed candidates. They need to reappear for the exam and clear the paper to move to further studies.
However, the memorandum of marks will contain grades as well as marks.
The board has established a control room at Hyderabad to assist students in case of problems. You can reach officials on 98499-09176, 98499-01361, 98499-01360, 98660-19544, 040-23237343 and 91770-02456.
