Mobile Number Portability Service – Still a Dream in India

The mobile number portability (MNP) services, which offer the customers to switch their operators while retaining their number has missed the another deadline. Recently, the government said that these services will not be launched before October 31. Earler they said that they will launch this service on June 30.

For the last three times, the service is missing the deadline. First it was said to be introduced in December 2009 in the metros. Later it was postponed to March 31, 2010. Then again to June 30 due to lack of time, tweak technology, and difference in tariff plans and billing.
