Medical facilities are growing in Hyderabad during the recent times. As a part of the development, in the first quarter of 2011, Osmania General Hospital has provided the India’s first Emergency Medicine Department which is recognized by the Medical Council of India.
With the implementation of EMD in the hospital, maximum number of lives can be saved by the emergency specialists. The EMD consists of Code Blue Response Team apart from 60-Bed EMD. Code Blue Team comprises of cardiologist, a nurse, a guard, an anesthetist, an electrician who will attend services 24×7.
As a part of the EMD, during the first 10-60 minutes of any serious event, a qualified emergency specialist holding an MD will attend the patients identifies the situation immediately. This will reduce the waiting time for the treatment and the patients will be saved on time.
Even the integration of the Emergency medicine in the medical syllabus should be done because of its importance.
