22 March 2011: In addition to the e-Seva centers, the GHMC has now allowed Citizen Service Centers (CSCs) to issue birth and death certificates. There are on the whole 19 CSC’s in the city which offer 17 services such as, grievance redressal, town planning, trade license, property tax, etc. The process of getting the certificate involves submission of application requesting the certificate, after which the applicant and the officer concerned receive system generated receipt. After this an automatic SMS is sent by the CSC server to the applicant and the officer concerned, who then starts processing the request. Then the application is updated in the CSC database, after which the applicant can collect the certificate.
As the issue of certificate takes large amount of time in e-Seva and even the fees charged is also high, GHMC had allowed CSCs to issue certificates.
